Early Life & Education
When he was a child, his parents moved to Dubai, UAE. There, he gained his International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma in Mathematics and Computer Science at GEMS Academy. In this academy, he was the deputy head boy and president of the Modern Debating Society. He was the only one to achieve 45 points (The Highest Points) in the IB diploma.
Then, at Stanford University, he earned a bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. However, in the middle, he dropped his degree in order to establish his start-up and get into entrepreneurship.
Career
He co-founded GoPool, an application that addresses school-related transportation needs, with his school friend Kaivalya Vohra in 2018. This app received funding of Dh53,550 from Emirates NBD in order to develop it professionally. Aadit developed this idea when he was 15 and stuck in traffic while he was picking up his younger brother from the school.
He worked on another project as the leader at PryvaSee from July 2019 to 2020. Thereafter, he and his friend Kaivalya got admitted to Stanford University where they pursued computer engineering. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they both came to Mumbai. When they were quarantined away from their family, they both faced loads of problems in purchasing online groceries. At that time, groceries took almost a week to be delivered. They identified this issue and launched their app KiranaKart, an app basically for grocery delivery in 2020. However, this app did not work as it could not capture the market properly, which led to shut down in March 2021.
In April 2021, he and Kaivalya came up with the new start-up of an online grocery store named Zepto in Mumbai. The idea of 10-minute delivery turned out be super-duper hit. In just one month, the company reached a valuation of $200 million, and within 5 months, it reached to $570 million. In 2022, the company was valued at 7,300 crores and went from zero to hero in a short period of time. Then, this company provided its services in other cities as well including Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, etc.

Controversy
In March 2024, Deepinder Goyal, the CEO of Zomato, stated that the sector overall was burning INR 5,000 crore per quarter. Zepto was allegedly one of the main causes of this financial loss. He said Blinkit only accounted for 2-3 % of the industry’s total cash burn, whereas Zepto burned between 2200-2300 crores. In Reply, Aadit replied that the statement is not true and that it will be clear when we publish our financial statement.
In December 2024, he found himself at the centre of controversy when a viral Reddit post accused the toxic work culture of Zepto. This issue came into the limelight when an unknown user shared their experience on Reddit and StartUpIndia. He stated that there were late-night meetings and employees were expected to work at least 14 hours a day. Moreover, allegations were also claimed the dark pattern of company patterns with purpose to earn more money from customers.
There were claims that Aadit cannot wake up early, and for this reason, the meeting has been set up at 2 AM in the morning. No meeting happens in time and there has always been a delay. They hire young people because senior people do not want to work in this toxic culture, as per the post.
