Early Life and Educational Qualifications
He was born in Halifax, where he developed an interest towards Cricket. He went to Holy Trinity Senior School, where his keenness for this sport was fostered. At a very young age, he joined the Bradshaw Cricket Club in the Halifax Cricket League. When he turned 13, he changed the club and joined the Illingworth Cricket Club. Then in 2006, he played under-11 level in the Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
In the Yorkshire ECB County Premier League, he was a skipper in the Yorkshire Academy. Moreover, he also played in the Yorkshire Second XI and Second XI Championship. In June 2010, he made his first-class debut for Yorkshire against the India A team, scoring 38 runs. After 3 years, in 2013, he scored his first class century, where he scored 121 runs.

Early Development
Initially, Alex Lees was in the player development XI in the England team in 2010 and 2011.
In 2010, he was rewarded by Yorkshire CCC with a junior Professional Contract.
First Class Breakthrough
In April 2013, he made his debut in first-class county cricket against Sussex for Yorkshire.
In May 2013, he scored his first maiden century (121 runs) in his third Championship Match against Middlesex at the Lord’s Stadium.
In July 2013, at Chesterfield, he scored 275 runs against Derbyshire, which was the third-highest score and became the youngest player to score a double century.
